The high speed system consists of 18 GHz High Frequency Coax (MHC) contacts, high speed cabling and mated 38999 size 23-6 connectors. The system is designed so that once the receptacle is mated to the box there will be no leakage from the interior of the box.
Due to altitude and heat generation, the entire box assembly is bathed in Flourinert and the rear of the connector as well as the contacts themselves must be sealed to prevent leakage.
Sabritec has designed a screw-in high speed contact body which allows for sealing of the Hermetic receptacle. Inside the box, the receptacle housing and high speed coax wires are attached to the high speed screw-in contact bodies. Outside the box, the plug assembly has additional high speed cable assemblies attached to the receptacle high speed screw-in contact bodies. The signals pass through the glass Hermetic seal, maintaining speeds greater than 18 GHz.
This is the first high speed Hermetic system designed by Sabritec and is in field system testing now.
